Friends by E.Jennings

I fear its very wrong of me
And yet I must admit
When someone offers friendship
I want the whole of it
I don't want everybody else
To share my friends with me.
At least, I want one special one
Who, indisputably,
Likes me much more than all the rest
Who's always on my side
Who never cares what others say
Who lets me come and hide
Within his shadow, in his house-
It doesn't matter where-
Who lets me simply be myself
Who's always, always there.

Elizabeth Jennings

Comments: I am going to do this extraordinary poem tomorrow which is on the 4th of June 2010, in my ESB(International) Exam at the level of Junior Grade 2. I am not sure if I will succeed in acheiving a distinction but I'm confident. I chose this poem as it is is easy to be memorized and has the real defenition of the word "Friendship"

The Pied Piper of Hamelin

This poem is written by one of the famous poets, Robert Browning. The poem is TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long for me to copy it down on this site. You can view the top-notch poem at http://holyjoe.org/poetry/browning2.htm . I love that poem very much. But it's too bad that I could only memorise the first three paragraphs of the poem.

Ramayana: Second longest poem on Earth

The socond largest poem on Earth is what I admire most, the Ramayana (Tamil: ராமாயணம்). In my opinion, it is a superb poem. It is also a poem under Hinduism. The character I admire most in that poem is Hanuman (Tamil: அனுமன்/மாருதி/ ஆஞ்சநேயர்) as he has a cute face and is adorable. The story is about Rama (Vishnu) marrying Sita and is sent to the forest for 14 years because of his father's wife, one of Dhasharath's four wives disliked Rama for bullying her when he was young. Dhasharath died due to this. When in the forest, he faces many challenges with Sita and his brother Lakshman to be succesful in killing Ravanna, the demon of the Ramayana period. To view about Ramayana's history, you can go to Wikipedia and search for "Ramayana". To read the poem, you can purchase the book or borrow it from the library. I just love the poem!

The longest poem on Earth

The longest poem on Earth is the Mahabharata (Tamil: மகாபாரதம்) which is a poem under the stories of Hinduism. Lord Krishna, often refered to the butter-thief, is the main character of this story. To view the history of Mahabharata, you can view the Wikipedia article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahabharata to know more. I admire this poem alot, but I admire the Ramayana (second largest poem on earth) the most. These poems are actually written in Sanskrit, and Indian language generally spoken in Northern India. To read Mahabharata the poem itself, you can purchase the book or also borrow it from the libraries in your countries. In Singapore, you can go to the regional libraries such as Jurong and Woodlands or go to the National Library located at Victoria Street.
